De Kleine Historie is a guesthouse located in possibly the nicest street of Paramaribo. Surely it is Ben’s favorite location. Right in the heart of the city, close to the Waterkant and all the touristic spots, the building is bursting with history. This wooden, old house, erected in a traditional Dutch way is filled with photos of historical Suriname. It is very hard not to notice a huge wall where all the former guests expressed their feelings about the place and thank the staff for their hospitality and kindness. We also have experienced that friendliness and a warm welcome.
The rooms of the guesthouse are cozy and clean, all of them with the very much necessary air condition. Guests can hang out on one of the terraces, on the first and second floor as well as at the hotel’s restaurant. If you feel like it, grab a book, get yourself a delicious coffee and sink into an armchair on a cool evening. Or set off to explore the city, there is hardly any better starting point in Paramaribo!
